The Bloomingdale Area Women in Business will award one $1,000 scholarship to a woman who is looking to improve herself professionally by such means as continued education or professional development with the goal of furthering her knowledge and expertise.
Applicants must be:
- Affiliated commercially within the surrounding Bloomingdale area.
- Female over 20 years of age. This is not a scholarship intended for a graduating high school student or a current college student. Please see the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Program for more information on graduating high school or current college students.
- The applicant should be someone continuing her education, going back to school after a period being out of school, wanting to receive a certification, needing continuing educational credits for her job, and/or wanting to move upward in her career and requires further education.
Scholarships must be used within the first year of being awarded. The scholarship will be awarded at the BAWIB lunch (date to be determined).
A committee from the general membership of BAWIB will evaluate applications based on the established criteria. Recommendations from this committee will be tabulated to determine the winners.
This scholarship is based on:
- Personal Investment in education and career progression
- Community Involvement, including volunteer or employment positions
- Industry Involvement, including networking and committee positions
- Potential Interview to discuss professional development plans

 Austan Dean Goolsbee is an American economist and writer. He is the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Goolsbee formerly served as the Robert P. Gwinn Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business. He was the chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers from 2010 to 2011 and a member of President Barack Obama's cabinet. He served as a member of the Chicago Board of Education from 2018 to 2019.
Goolsbee was a member of the Council of Economic Advisers before becoming chair. He was also the Chief economist and chief-of-staff to Paul Volcker at the President's Economic Recovery Advisory Board—the board was formed in the wake of the 2007–2008 financial crisis.
Goolsbee also is a member of the Skull and Bones secret society.

Through the generosity of our members, the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce presents scholarships to deserving students who complete an application process. Employees (or children of employees) of member businesses, and/or residents of Bloomingdale are eligible to apply. In 2023, the Chamber presented $11,000 in scholarships.
As a donor to the Scholarship Program, your business will be acknowledged on the Chamber website, in a Chamber-wide Thank You email and at the Scholarship Breakfast event.
All scholarship sponsors are invited to attend the Scholarship Breakfast (date to be determined) at the Bloomingdale Golf Club. It is at this event that the donors will have the opportunity to meet all the recipients of the scholarships.
*Alumni and Chamber level donors will be able to participate in the presentation of the awards.
Additionally, we encourage all Chamber members to attend the Fundraising days being held at Chamber member restaurants (To Be Announced). Net proceeds of this event provide additional funds to benefit the Chamber's Scholarship Program.

Join us for the annual State of the Village luncheon
provided by Bloomingdale Village President Franco Coladipietro
Mayor Franco will share an overview of recent developments and pending improvements happening in and around Bloomingdale. This event is a great way to learn about the goings-on and meet many of the community leaders and other business professionals. It is always one of the most popular luncheons of the year.
In addition to hearing the latest Village update, there will also be a mini-expo of several of the chamber's premium partners who will have tables and displays set up to provide you with information.

Event Cancellation Policy
Pre-registration for our events is required so that the hosting venue can prepare an adequate number of meals. If you need to cancel your registration, you must do so 72 hours in advance of the event. If you are unable to attend the event, but have not notified us at least 72 hours prior to the event, you will be responsible for the cost of the event. Any refunds provided will be minus the credit card processing fees.

Brought to you by the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce, Stratford Crossing Shopping Center and the Bloomingdale Park District. Featuring vendors from fitness studios, gyms, dance studios, psychologists, and therapists, all coming together to promote wellness and healthy living. Includes interactive booths where attendees can try out different fitness techniques such as yoga, dance, and pilates. There will also be therapists to address mental health and self-care. Bring your mats to participate in demonstrations.
Health & Wellness Fair will be a fun and engaging event that will inspire and empower attendees to take charge of their health and well-being.
Vendor Expo Tables: $75 Chamber member, $125 non-chamber member
- 10x10 space – vendor provides tent, table, table covering, & chairs
- Setup begins at 10:00 am. Once complete remove vehicle from expo area by 11:30 am.
- Business categories are limited – vendors need to be approved by committee
- Must complete vendor application in full and agree to the Hold Harmless Agreement
- No electricity is provided
- Any vendor providing or selling food, must offer healthy food options and have own licenses and permits. No food vendors allowed outside of Stratford Crossing tenants.

Through the generosity of our members, the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce presents scholarships to deserving students who complete an application process. Employees (or children of employees) of member businesses, and/or residents of Bloomingdale are eligible to apply. In 2023, the Chamber presented $11,000 in scholarships.
As a donor to the Scholarship Program, your business will be acknowledged on the Chamber website, in a Chamber-wide Thank You email and at the Scholarship Breakfast event.
Scholarship sponsors who donate $100 or more are invited to attend the Scholarship Breakfast on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the Bloomingdale Golf Club. It is at this event that the donors will have the opportunity to meet all the recipients of the scholarships.
*Alumni and Chamber level donors will be able to participate in the presentation of the awards.
Additionally, we encourage all Chamber members to attend the Fundraising days being held at Chamber member restaurants March 20th at Texas Roadhouse. You can REGISTER HERE. Net proceeds of this event provide additional funds to benefit the Chamber's Scholarship Program.
