SUMMARY:BAWIB: Luncheon "My Big Fat Abundant Life" & Scholarship Presentation
DESCRIPTION:Please join us on Wednesday\, May 23\, for networking with fellow businesswomen\, a featured speaker/topic\, and the presentation of the Bloomingdale Area Women in Business 2018 scholarship award.\n\n\n\nThis year's BAWIB Scholarship recipient is Siomara Sotelo. Siomara will be applying this award toward her associate degree in nursing at the College of DuPage where she is currently enrolled. We would like to thank the 2018 BAWIB Scholarship Sponsors: AMITA Adventist Healthcare GlenOaks Hospital and Wintrust Wealth Management for their generosity.\n\n\n\nWhile you enjoy your lunch\, our featured speaker\, Amy Calhoun will present: "My Big Fat Abundant Life" which explores daily intentionality in building abundance into your relationships\, career and resources.\n\n\n\nDoes work-life balance really exist? What if we looked at it all as an intentional life and sought out the abundance in our families\, jobs and assets instead? By using the concept of putting the big rocks in your jar first\, we'll explore tactics to harness the "busy" of your life and turn it into the full life you desire. Let's uncover how being intentional each day\, and separating the wheat from the chaff\, can create more abundance in our relationships\, resources and time.\n\n\n\nAs a single mom of two school-aged boys\, Amy Calhoun employs efficiency and productivity to keep the ship on course (and the laundry clean). Calhoun doesn't believe in work-life balance. Rather she focuses her attention on living life intentionally and creating experiences that add vitality to her life and the lives of those around her. She believes high performance is achievable at work and home by using systems\, strategies and tactics to stay focused and engaged.\n\n\n\nBy day\, Calhoun is the marketing and social media coordinator for College of DuPage. In her job she uses tactics and systems to increase output while incorporating breaks and vacations for recharging and refocusing. Calhoun earned her bachelor's degree at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake\, IA and received her master's degree from Columbia College Chicago.
