SUMMARY:September 13 Non-Profit Luncheon and Expo
DESCRIPTION:We will highlight the non profits of Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce on September 13 at Bloomingdale Golf Club. Join us to learn about the work of our non-profit organizations while you network with fellow Chamber members. Each non profit will have a mini expo booth. \n\n\n\nLisa Drake\, CASA of DuPage County will be our guest speaker:\n\n\n\nLisa holds a bachelors degree in Spanish from Elmhurst College and a teaching certificate for secondary education. In early 2001\, Lisa started a small business teaching women in Berlin\, El Salvador sewing skills in order to make them more employable. She spent 4 years traveling back and forth and ultimately met her goal to become obsolete\, as the women accepted the responsibilities of the business and are running it for themselves.\n\n \n\nOver the last 20 years\, Lisa has held leadership positions in many local volunteer organizations such as the Parent & Child Education Society\, Wheaton Junior Woman's Club\, and the General Federation of Women's Clubs. She also served as a board member for the DuPage County Historical Museum and as co-chair for the Next Generation Initiative (a sub group of the DuPage Community Foundation). She currently serves as member of the Wheaton Chapter of the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago. \n\n \n\nIn 2006\, Lisa began working with the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce as the Director of Membership\, and in 2007\, became the Executive Director. She joined CASA of DuPage County as Executive Director in November of 2009 and feels privileged to lead the only organization in the county advocating for abused and neglected children\, who through no fault of their own\, find themselves in the juvenile court system.\n\n\n\n** Consider registering for the Fall Progressive Luncheon with Addison\, Bartlett\, Bloomingdale\, Carol Stream and Glendale Heights on October 10 at Bloomingdale Golf Club.
