Pay Range: $15.00 per hr. for workers age 18+, and $13.00 per hr. under age 18.
 
The Village of Bloomingdale is accepting applications for Seasonal Employee positions with the Public Works Department for the 2024 summer.
 
The position performs semi-skilled manual work in operations, maintenance, and construction activities. Duties include assisting fulltime staff with streets and sidewalks, brush chipping, parkway restoration and cleanup, hydrant flushing, miscellaneous painting, general shop cleanup and watering.
 
Applicants must be able to follow verbal and written instructions, use various hand tools, stand and walk for an extended period, and frequently lift and move up to 75lbs. This position requires the ability to perform tasks such as shoveling, raking, pushing, pulling, climbing, turning, and lifting while exposed to hot outdoor weather conditions.
 
Applicants must be at least 16 years old to apply. Applicants 18 years and older must have a valid driver’s license and have the ability to safely operate an automobile, truck or van on public roadways. Employees under the age of 18 are not permitted to operate Village vehicles or equipment.
 
A pre-employment physical, drug test, and background screening are required.
